My name is Alyssa Burkhart, MSN, FNP-C. I have my masters degree in nursing from Indiana State University. I have been a family nurse practitioner for 7 years with a background as a registered nurse with pediatric and adult trauma and critical care at a level one hospital. I currently work at a suburban urgent care outside of Indianapolis, IN. I have personally experienced the lack of care and understanding caring for autistic children with my 11 year old son who is on the autism spectrum. Through our own personal experience, I am using this as an opportunity to not only train myself and my coworkers, but also train other healthcare providers in our community.
