This program is a detailed discussion of Medicare billing for nurse practitioners. Included is an analysis of outpatient billing but most of the discussion pertained to billing in acute settings, including critical care, shared billing, prolonged inpatient care and transitional care.
After completion of this activity participants will be better able to:
1. Discuss Medicare’s rules related to billing for NP services
2. Discuss future implications related to billing Medicare in an era of health care reform
3. Discuss the impact of regulatory decisions by the Federal Trade Commission on NP practice
