Overview Real-time continuous monitoring (rtCGM) allows patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and providers to detect glycemic variability in real time, a feature not addressed with intermittent fingersticks or A1C. This allows providers to discuss and set targets for “time in range,” the daily average amount of time the patient’s blood sugar is within a defined range or TIR, thereby improving blood glucose control and hypoglycemia awareness, and reducing the risk of well-known serious acute and chronic associated complications of type 2 diabetes. This program was recorded live at the 2022 National Conference. We recognize that background noises can be distracting and thank you for your patience!
Objectives
- Have increased knowledge regarding clinical trial and real-world data supporting use of real-time continuous glucose monitoring (rtCGM) in various clinical practice settings.
- Have increased knowledge regarding interpretation of ambulatory glucose profile (AGP) report data.
- Have increased knowledge regarding adjustment of diabetes treatment regimens based on rtCGM data.
- Have greater competence related to utilization of rtCGM in practice.
