Overview Many providers aren't sure about the biologic impact on libido, sexual response and risk of pain when recommending or prescribing contraceptive options to women. This evidence-based presentation will provide the plausible biologic influences of hormones as well as population-based data on outcomes. Objectives
Decode the hormonal factors within combined oral and vaginal contraceptives that contribute to changes sexual desire.
Determine how to adjust contraceptive options to reduce the impact on sexuality.
Elucidate how various contraceptives impact vulvar tissue leading to dyspareunia.
