Overview Even though COPD is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality, there is a need to improve the use of diagnostic tools and treatment plans to improve the lives of patients with COPD. Managing complex cases in the fast primary care setting can be challenging. Hear updates on the latest treatment options, based on 2023 GOLD COPD guidelines. Case studies will be utilized to differentiate between COPD and asthma COPD overlap (ACO) and other chronic lung conditions. Pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic individualized treatment plans will be presented.
Objectives
- Review the updates and application of the diagnosis and management of COPD based on the 2023 GOLD guidelines.
- Review pathophysiology, diagnosis, diagnostic testing, and related interpretation of studies as they relate to patients with COPD.
- Apply the 2023 GOLD guidelines pharmacologic changes to case studies and practice examples.
