Overview This engaging educational webinar offers a comprehensive, clinically relevant exploration of ARS, equipping nurse practitioners and the broader care team with the knowledge and tools needed to optimize patient outcomes. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of Acute Repetitive Seizure (ARS) prevalence, risk factors and clinical consequences, while also examining the latest evidence surrounding FDA-approved rescue therapies — including emerging intranasal options — and their role in rapid seizure termination. The program emphasizes practical, patient-centered strategies such as early recognition, individualized seizure action planning and collaborative, team-based care approaches to improve quality of life and reduce morbidity and mortality.
Objectives- Describe the prevalence, patient burden and clinical gravity of ARS.
- Examine the clinical imperative for prompt recognition and interruption of ARS using rescue therapies.
- Evaluate the evidence and regulatory milestones for ARS rescue therapies currently approved by the FDA — highlighting safety, efficacy and differentiated clinical utility.
- Design individualized, patient-centered ARS care plans, integrating available rescue therapies into best practice seizure action plans (SAPs) and acute seizure action plans (ASAPs).
