Overview This is a PowerPoint presentation that begins with a reminder on endothelial dysfunction and microvascular cardiac disease, then proceeds to specific data concerning women and CV disease, a review of women in the health care system and barriers. The unique aspect of being women: menstrual cycles, pregnancy, and metabolic syndrome with lifestyle are explored. Pre-test and post-test data and non-obstructive CAD is discussed in detailed.
Objectives
- To increase the knowledge of specific cardiac changes and risks that are found only in the female patient.
- To provide evidence-based treatment considerations including lifestyle management specific to women to reduce the CVD risks and death.
- To increase awareness of the critical need of a comprehensive review of history, including OB, when caring for the female with CVD risks.
