Overview This is a multi-module CE activity series that provides a guide to Nurse Practitioners on diagnosing and treating RA. In Medical Minute 1, experts will discuss the importance of early diagnosis and common presenting signs & symptoms of RA. Through a case presentation learners will be guided through appropriate testing and screening tools used in the diagnosis of RA. In Medical Minute 2, experts review evidence-based effective treatment strategies and using a case-based scenario learners will be guided through the best practices for managing and monitoring patients with RA.
Medical Minute 1:
Recognize the signs and symptoms of early RA and know when to refer for specialty management.
Delineate the signs, symptoms, history and diagnostic tests results that might suggest an RA diagnosis in their patients.
Medical Minute 2:
Identify therapy options for RA, to include nonbiologic and biologic DMARDs and newer agents such as IL-6 agents and JAK inhibitors, based on the patient profile, RA stage, associated risks and comorbidities.
Define strategies associated with monitoring patients with RA, examining disease progression, and managing comorbid conditions.
