Overview This activity will challenge NPs, PAs and other HCPs to understand the nuances of chronic kidney disease development more completely and the methods of action including pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of next-generation treatments to alleviate anemia associated with CKD. BioDigital interactive avatars, animations and 3D models are used to help explain key concepts.
Illustrate the economic, health, and social burden of anemia of CKD among patients and caregivers.
Evaluate the new science surrounding anemia of CKD, including the roles of inflammation and hepcidin in disease pathophysiology and management.
Justify the rationale behind current standard-of-care recommendations of anemia of CKD.
Appraise the efficacy and safety of new and emerging HIF-PH inhibitors for the management of anemia of CKD.
In this presentation, Dr. Ray will discuss emerging treatments with HIF-PH inhibitors including drugs pending FDA approval as well as those currently in clinical trials.
