Overview CGM technology has become a valuable tool in the management of diabetes to detect trends in glucose levels, identify asymptomatic glycemic excursions, and glycemic variability. A multitude of studies have demonstrated improved patient outcomes with continuous CGM use including improved A1C levels, reduced hypoglycemia, and increased patient satisfaction rates. To optimize this technology, it is important for NPs in primary care to have proficiency in all aspects off CGM use. This presentation will utilize case studies to demonstrate the key concepts of CGM use in primary care.
Objectives
- Discuss CGM functionality, features, cost and coverage.
- Analyze CGM metrics and data analysis.
- Utilize a case study approach to demonstrate application of CGM in the primary care including medication management.
