Schizophrenia affects an estimated 3.2 million people in the United States and most NPs see patients with this disorder in their practices. Learn about emerging pharmacological treatments for schizophrenia and strategies to optimize adherence to plan of care.
Schizophrenia Program Update Shortly after this presentation was recorded, the FDA approved a new treatment for schizophrenia, an oral combination of xanomeline and trospium chloride, with the brand name Cobenfy. Discuss the burden of disease faced by people living with schizophrenia.
Identify the clinical presentation of the cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia.
Examine the currently available and emerging pharmacological treatments for schizophrenia.
Apply treatment strategies that optimize maximal adherence to the schizophrenia plan of care.
