Overview Headache remains one of the most common reasons patients seek medical care from their clinicians in the primary care setting. Primary headache disorders such as migraine and cluster headache are often under-recognized or misdiagnosed, and despite available treatment options, many patients do not receive optimal, if any, treatment for their headaches. This 3-module activity is designed to increase your knowledge and competence to recognize, diagnose, refer and manage patient with migraine and cluster headaches.
In the first Medical Minute activity, leading experts in headaches and will provide key insights and best practices in the screening for and diagnosis of migraine and cluster headaches. In the second Medical Minute activity, data is provided on new targeted therapies in the management of migraine and cluster headaches. Our experts will also review evidence-based treatments for patients with episodic and chronic migraine, including preventive therapy in appropriate candidates. In the third Medical Minute activity, the experts present three cases and discuss the diagnosis and treatment of each while reinforcing the information from Medical Minutes 1 & 2.
Objectives Medical Minute 1: - Summarize how a diagnosis for migraine is established in clinical practice.

Medical Minute 2: - Appraise recent data on new targeted therapies in the management of migraine.
- Select evidence-based treatments for patients with episodic or chronic migraine, including those who are appropriate candidates for migraine preventive therapy.

- Select evidence-based treatments for patients with cluster headache.
