Overview: In this podcast, diabetes experts Debbie Hinnen and Dr. Shannon Idzik provide an overview of hypoglycemia, its treatments and the critical importance of having a plan in place for your patients to manage hypoglycemia when it occurs. They discuss the use of an educational tool that you can use to provide education about hypoglycemia with your patients and to establish an individualized, written plan for them to prepare for and manage hypoglycemia. This activity is an Accredited AANP Podcast Activity. Learners will need to listen to the podcast through their preferred podcast provider (Search for "NP Pulse" and listen to Episode 113). A participation code will be given at the END of the podcast - make sure to write this code down. Once you've listened to the podcast and have the participation code, return to this activity in the CE Center. Click on the "Next Steps" button of the activity and (1) enter the participation code that was provided, (2) complete the post-test, and (3) complete the activity evaluation. This will award your CE credit and certificate of completion.
Objectives- Explain the prevalence and burden of disease of hypoglycemia in people living with type 2 diabetes who are treated with insulin or other glucose-lowering pharmacotherapies.
- Discuss the importance of creating a hypoglycemia plan of care for all patients with type 2 diabetes who are treated with insulin or other glucose-lowering pharmacotherapies.
- Summarize the components of an individualized hypoglycemia plan of care for a patient with type 2 diabetes who is treated with insulin or other glucose-lowering pharmacotherapies.

- Listen to all of Episode 113 "Plan Ahead for Hypoglycemia". A participation code will be provided at the end. Make sure to write this code down! You will need this code to unlock access the the post-test and evaluation to complete the activity to earn your CE credit. The code will consist of a LETTERS and NUMBERS. When entering the code in the Participation Code field, make sure you enter the letters and numbers together (no space between them). Letters are not case sensitive.
- Return to the AANP CE Center. Click on the activity from your CE Activities list and then click the blue Next Steps button:
- A new window will open. Provide and submit the Participation Code, exactly as it was given at the end of the podcast, in the available text field.
