Nurse practitioners are critically important in the identification, treatment and ongoing management of patients with type 2 diabetes. Management of type 2 diabetes has evolved rapidly in recent years due to new guidelines, new pharmacotherapies and new technologies. This 6-module Clinical Advantage Bootcamp: Type 2 Diabetes Management Certificate for Nurse Practitioners has been developed with the busy NP in mind. Join the five expert faculty as they provide an overview of type 2 diabetes, discuss diagnosis, management and guideline-based treatment strategies, and walk you through the pharmacotherapies and technology options for those with type 2 diabetes. Participants who complete all modules will receive a certificate of completion.

Type 2 Diabetes Overview

Type 2 diabetes is a complex disorder and it is imperative that nurse practitioners have a strong foundation regarding this disease. In this module, Dr. Idzik discusses pathophysiology, complications/co-morbidities, burdens and socioeconomic disparities of type 2 diabetes.
